Filtration occurs after clarification to remove any remaining suspended particles, organic and micro-pollutants and heavy metals that are not removed by the clarification process.
Filtration techniques are applied to the following:
- Treatment of industrial effluent water
- Treatment of process water
- Municipal wastewater and drinking water.
- Protect installations and equipment from undissolved particles in the water
There are various types of filters: media filters, screen filters, disk filters, slow sand filter beds, rapid sand filters and cloth filters.
